Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
About the project
1. What is Senderismo Para Todos?
We are an Adventure Tourism operator specialized in accessibility to the natural environment. We are registered with the Ministry of Tourism, and since 2023 we bring nature activities in Uruguay to all people, regardless of age, physical condition, previous experience or disability. We design hiking, interpretation and outdoor education experiences with an inclusive and accessible approach.
2. What is the purpose of the project?
Our purpose is to make nature activities accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We promote equal access to nature tourism, creating safe, accompanied and adapted experiences so that everyone can enjoy the territory according to their possibilities.
3. Who can participate in the activities?
Everyone. Everyone can participate, and that is the essence and differential of this project. The outings are designed to integrate different rhythms, abilities and ways of walking, ensuring that no one is left out. We understand that this is the only way for the activity to be truly inclusive.
4. Do I need previous experience to join?
No. Each activity is adapted to the capabilities of the participants enrolled. Our team guides the process from scratch.
Accessibility and inclusion
5. Are the outings adapted for people with reduced mobility or disabilities?
Yes, we look for accessible routes, we adapt dynamics, we offer specific support and we have a team trained in inclusion and accessible tourism. The planning is always adjusted to the real needs of the group.
6. Do you have accessible/adapted trails in Uruguay?
Yes, we work in parks, reserves and natural areas where we previously evaluate accessibility criteria and communicate this information before each outing. Considering the trail to be visited and the characteristics of the people we define if we need to make any adaptation either in the definition of the itinerary or through the use of any of the technical aids we have.
7. Is it allowed to participate with companions, family members or personal assistants?
Of course. We recommend that each person participate with those who make them feel comfortable, safe and accompanied.
8. What safety and inclusion measures are taken in each activity?
The guides are trained in first aid in remote areas, accessibility and handling of diverse groups. In addition, we plan routes, inform about difficulty levels, check weather conditions and always prioritize the safety and well-being of the group.
Logistics of the activities
9. How do I register for the activities?
Through our website or by WhatsApp. We publish the corresponding registration form for each outing.
10. What should I bring to an accessible hike?
Comfortable clothes, appropriate footwear, water, hat and sunscreen. Depending on the activity, we send a list of additional recommendations.
11. What is the level of difficulty of the routes?
Most of them are of low difficulty, ideal for all levels. We always inform you about the duration, type of terrain and difficulty level before each activity.
12. Are the outings suspended due to bad weather?
Yes, if the weather is not safe, we reschedule the activity. You can choose to keep your reservation or request a refund.
13. Is there an age limit to participate?
No. The activities are designed so that children, adults and seniors can enjoy them.
Costs and reservations
14. Do the activities have a cost?
The activities have a cost as when contracting with any other tour operator, to cover the costs of organization, logistics and personnel. We also have some free activities thanks to the support of institutions, companies and tourism directorates with which we generate agreements. *School children always participate free of charge (accompanied by an adult).
15. How are payments or reservations made?
You can pay by bank transfer or through MercadoPago. When booking, you can choose to pay the total amount or 50% as a deposit.
16. Are there discounts for groups?
Yes. When completing the reservation you can select the discount according to the number of people participating.
17. Do people with disabilities pay, and what about those who participate but also help to assist?
Yes, all participants pay the same, whether they need assistance, help to attend or simply accompany. In this way we guarantee equal access to tourism (which is a right), avoiding the extra cost of accessible services.
18. Are there free quotas?
If you are disabled or have reduced mobility and want to participate in an activity but cannot afford the cost, we invite you to write to us by email or networks. We can find a way to free up your space by absorbing the cost ourselves or through public and private sponsors. We love to make it possible!
Organization and accompaniment
19. Who are the guides or coordinators of the outings?
We are a team of guides, instructors and nature interpreters with university training in trekking, accessible tourism, nature, and first aid in remote areas. We have years of experience working in natural areas and guided experiences.
20. Does the team have training in accessibility?
Yes. The founder has a postgraduate degree in Accessible Tourism and a specialization in Accessibility. In addition, all the members of the team have completed our own training in Accessible Tourism in Nature. The next edition of the course starts in April 2026.
21. Is it possible to organize private outings or outings for institutions?
Yes. We design tailor-made activities for educational institutions, companies, organizations and groups looking for inclusive experiences in nature. We invite you to get in touch with us so that together we can shape a new accessible activity in nature.
22. Is it possible to organize a private outing for my family and/or friends?
Yes, of course. We have done several of these outings (usually for birthdays) where there is a total cost of the activity and whoever makes the reservation defines the place to be visited, schedules, who will be the participants, and all the extras you can imagine.
How can I support the project?
You can participate in the activities, spread the word about our work or join as a partner institution or sponsor to expand the scope of the project.
Doing an activity with Senderismo para Todos is much more than just hiking a trail or visiting a new place. It is being part of something bigger, such as making it possible for others to get there. We invite you to participate and experience firsthand what happens in our activities... Together we make it accessible! :)
